I already have a First Direct cash ISA for 2009/10, and now want to start investing in shares too.
Can I open a separate shares ISA with another provider this year (iii is favourite at the moment) or does it have to be with First Direct?
Thank you!

I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.

As RayWolfe says, you can have your Cash & S&S ISAs with whomever you wish.
If you have contributed the full £3,600 to your Cash ISA, you have another £3,600 allowance to contribute to an S&S ISA (assuming that you are under 50 - otherwise your overall allowance will be higher after 6th October)0 -
Thank you both! I'm off to apply to iii now.....I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.0
