Barclays 6.5% - How long?
Hi, I've been reading about the Barclay's 6.5% ISA. This is not fixed. Does anyone know (obviously million dollar question) if this is likely to lower at all? Are there any plans for it to lower or is it guranteed to a certain level etc? Thanks.

ICESAVE - safe or not?
Hi, Could someone clear this up for me? I read on the main site in the ISA section that ICESAVE is not 'completely safe'. Can anyone clarify this? Say for example i opened one now, then in 11 months it had trouble. Would i get 11 months interest for example? Thanks.

Suggestions regarding my ISA mix / Is there an ISA aimed at novices?
Hello. I welcome a little advice on this world of ISAs. I currently have 2 ISAs from previous year: * £6500 at 5.76% in Kent & Reliance * £3000 @ 5.3% in NS&I I'm looking to invest in a new cash ISA (£3600) for this year and was going to go for the highest rate that allows transfers-in. I would then open up the ISA and…

how do I open an ISA for £9000?
Hi People There is most likely a simple answer to this one, but as I understand it you are allowed to open one cash ISA of £3600 per year (total annual allowance £7200) The thing that is confusing me is for example Lloyds TSB is offering a fixed rate ISA of AER6.50% per annum with a minimum investment of £9000. Now if my…

Hsbc Isa Problems
Hi all, I had a preferential rate cash ISA with HSBC and saw the advert for their 6% e-cash ISA so I contacted them via secure messaging on internet banking to find out about opening the e-cash ISA. They replied saying that in order for me to open thte e-cash ISA I would need to close my other ISA with them which I did. I…

Is it possible to transfer 2 old ISAs into 1 new one?
Hello. I'd welcome a little advice. I have one ISA with Kent & Reliance and one ISA with NS&1, from previous years. I am shopping around for the best deal on an ISA for this year. Is it possible to invest in a new ISA and transfer-in the two separate ISAs (if the new ISA allows transfers-in, of course)? If so, how do I go…

ISA that pays monthly interest or ISA that pays yearly. Which pays out more?
Title says it all really. If I was to put £1000 in 2 ISAs with the same AER - 1 that pays interest monthly and 1 that pays interest yearly - Which account would I have more money in after a set period of time? I've read conflicting views: One camp says that it makes no difference to the actual amount of interest paid. The…

Cash ISA: half a million in 30 years?

If both my wife and I save £3.6k in our cash ISAs for the next 30 years and earn 5% interest on average, then we end up with more than half a million quid in today's money? Holy Mother of God! Why doesn't everyone do this then? It's such a no brainer! Check this out... Annual Rate 5.0 New…

Lloyds Tsb Fixed Rate Isa Up To 6.5% Ends Tomorrow
Thought I'd create a new thread to clarify that it does end tomorrow. I just phoned up the specialist savings team at Lloyds TSB and they were really helpful. You have until TOMORROW (Saturday) to open this up to get the better rate at a branch. After this the rate drops. This is the official message from the department…

Icesave isa transfer form - Sending it "RECORDED DELIVERY"?
The icesave isa transfer form contains loads of personal information, for example a/c numbers, NI number, full name & address etc. It worries me that if this form didn't arrive, or ended up in the wrong hands, that a LOT of damage could potentially be done (ID theft etc.). You can't be too careful these days with personal…

ISA Index Tracker for this tax hear?
Do you think I should still invest in an Index Tracker this year given the volatile state of the stock market. I was thinking of contributing monthly to even out any rises/falls.
