Can I wrap up my shares in a S&S ISA?
Hi there I've been searching for an answer but can't seem to find one. I have some shares, worth about £5000, can I simply 'wrap them up' in a S&S ISA? Everything I read seems to point me in the direction of funds where someone else makes the decision of what to purchase. Thanks Lynne

NPBS TOISA transfer to better HSBC? Recommendations!
Hello helpful people :j I have 10K in a Norwich and Peterborough Tessa only ISA with a fixed rate of 5%. Had this account for years, but it doesn't seem to be the best rate in the world for the tax free balance. I like their ethics, but the rates are poor. I understand they are now just all ISAs. I also understand not to…

did anyone else open the A&L 8.1%ISA last year?
I've been searching for the best ISA to put my money in this year, but only just decided to check my current interest rates. I knew the 8.1% offer was only for 1 year so I assumed it would have dropped to an uncompetitive rate now, but checking the A&L site it says the interest rate is now 7.85%, so I am…

Everything I Always Wanted To Know About Funds In An ISA But Was Afraid To Ask
This is a follow-up to the thread named "Scared of shares...". If you are an expert on choosing funds for your ISA and have made consistent money over the years, please drop a few nuggets of wisdom... Question 1: Which fund supermarket should I move my ISA to? Fidelity or H&L (or something else)? What should be my…

ISA transfer advice
All, I'm getting myself a bit confused about transfering, so thought I'd ask you all. I have been saving for a few years into a Barclays mini-cash ISA, and now their rates are not favourable. I'm in a lucky position that I can pay upfront £3K into my Barclays ISA but my question to you all is do I do that now then transfer…

Shares ISA, should I sell?
I currently have a shares tracker ISA with RBS (was Direct Line). I've had it a few years and gradually built it up to around £4500. With the current stock market volatility I'm tempted to take £3600 out and put it in my cash ISA. The shares ISA has always been a long term investment and I intend to keep it going for at…

Barclays Online Application on 5th April Allowed 07/08 ISA, letter says 08/09
Hi, I made an online application for a barclays ISA on the 5th April. The web site had 2 available options 07/08 and 08/09 - i selected 07/08. The letter I have received today states they are opening an 08/09 isa. I have called them, and they suggest it would be impossible for them to have opened an 07/08 account for an…

Isa, Isa Isa
Hi, this is probably a dumb question, but here goes anyway. I have an ISA with NS&I which I think pays 6.2% and has £3000 in (from last year). My Wife also has an ISA with A&L which pays 6.3% (I think). Anyway, now that its the new Financial year I can now invest £3600 in each. My question is this, should I invest the…

How do you transfer to an e-ISA? (The "no transfers from other ISAs allowed" kind)
Sorry if this has already been addressed elsewhere, but I've been looking at a variety of e-ISAs for a few days now, which all state something along the lines of "Transfers in from other cash ISAs are not permitted". That said, I then checked with the HMRC site, and was informed that I cannot subscribe to more than one ISA…

How do I change from one ISA to another?
I started paying £100 a month into a smile account ISA last year. It currently has about £800 in it. Is this worth it?
Right, correct me if I am wrong but.......A&L are offering an ISA at 6.25% AER, which accepts transfers in and doesn't punish you for withdrawing early. So I could move from Egg to A&L. How do you go about transferring? Do I tell Egg first or apply through A&L first? Is it worth moving? Thanks! :j  :j
