Hi,
I've been reading about the Barclay's 6.5% ISA. This is not fixed.
Does anyone know (obviously million dollar question) if this is likely to lower at all?
Are there any plans for it to lower or is it guranteed to a certain level etc?
Thanks.

I would expect the rate to fall by 0.25% on or around 1st May in response to this weeks base rate fall and then to mirror any further base rate falls.
Skipton/Bradford and Bingley One year fix is more prudent IMO.0 -
Thanks. Not too bad.0

I'd like to open an ISA this week and have my £3,600 cash ready to deposit.
However, it has to be a branch based account and in terms of geography the best deals I can find where I live are Barclays 6.5% and Nationwide Fixed 6.15%. (There's also an Abbey, NatWest, HSBC and Lloyds, but their deals do not look enticing!!)
I plan to put the money in and not touch it for the year, does anyone think that the Barclays account will fall below 6.15 as it's not fixed, it it does fall then it would be worth sticking with Nationwide's rate of 6.15% and not have to worry about that falling.

Upto you, if you want to take the risk for with Barclays, if not Nationwide. But rates are expected to fall this year....0
