Mini Cash ISA's with different provider
Hi Guys Wondered if anyone would kindly answer my question. I have an ISA at the moment with Halifax with £3,600 in it at the moment. I havent invested any money in it this tax year. But the interest rate on that account is only 5.25%. I wanted to open a Barclays ISA at the rate of 6.5% for this tax year. Does anyone know…

Abbey ISA vs A&L ISA
Hi, Since I am an existing customer of Abbey and A&L, it would be quick and easy for me to open an ISA account in either one. The rate is for both 6.25%. Since I usually go with Martin's Best Buy article, I am wondering why Abbey is not listed as a clean ISA but A&L is. Is there some small prints I might have missed or is…

How do ISA Transfers work?
Possibly a numpty question but one to which I'm simply not clear on the answer. I have a Barclays ISA, forget the exact name but the popular one from last year, which I opened just before the end of March last year so managed to cram in the £3k for 2006-2007 and then £3k for 2007-2008. For 2008-2009 they're paying a pretty…

Halifax fixed rate ISA
As I dont expect to need access to my ISA money I am going to use my £3600 allowance for 08/09 for the four year fix with Halifax at 6.2%. I would have liked to do a transfer in from another fixed Halifax ISA as well but that doesnt mature till 11/04 and in my experience Halifax drop their ISA rates within days of the new…

Abbey ISA - query on their transfer form
Sorry for such a basic question but I am looking to transfer my 06/07 and 07/08 Barclays Tax Saver ISAs into Abbey and am just completing their transfer form which they emailed me. On Section 2 I have given the address of Barclays but they ask for a telephone number underneath - do they really want Barclays Helpline number…

Recommend an ISA
I have ~£7,000 in a Nationwide ISA @5.05% I’d like to put this years £3,400 along with my Nationwide balance into a new ISA. Which is the best paying ISA that will also let you transfer a previous ISA balance? – I know Barclays is 6.5% but that’s doesn’t let you transfer pervious ISA’s. Could you recommend a strategy?

Where is ISA interest added?
I have put in £3k for cash ISA for tax year 2007/8 and will add £3.6k for tax year 2008/9 when I get the dosh. Considering that there are limits for putting in cash for each tax year, is the monthly interest (in the case of my ISA) added to the ISA account or to my normal account?

Take ISA now and join to another later in year?
Hi, Last October i put my ISA in to Britannia 6.55% fixed until Oct 08. I transferred 6k in. I obviously can't touch this as full amount plus last year's was in. I'm now looking to put 3.6k in to a new ISA account. I was wondering. If i get a variable rate (from another company) at around 6% and put in 3k next week... Then…

£4000 to use with 8 hours to go..
I've used my £3000 cash ISA allowance this year, but have a lump sum to invest in a stocks+shares ISA, and need to do so by tonight. So.. 1) Which providers are likely to accept a new account opened today 2) Any suggestions on what to go for? I'm happy to take a bit of a risk with the money, but nothing too scary. I've…

Transfer and Open new ISA in Same Tax Year?
I was under the impression that you could only open one cash ISA each tax year. So if you wanted to take advantage of the high rates on the non-transfer in ISA accounts, you had to leave your previous ISA balance in whatever account you opened the previous year. But someone told me you could open more than one ISA each tax…

"Second-best" Cash ISA options for 2008-2009?
I've checked Martin's Best Cash ISAs article, but I don't think that any of the recommendations are really for me: Barclays: branch-only account, and according to reports elsewhere on the forum, a bit shambolic when it comes to the back-end systems getting accounts organised, and also when it comes to making withdrawals…

Are new ISA offers for 08/09 advertised soon?
Please excuse this question from a Saving Newbie - we've never really taken much notice of ISA offers, worrying more about paying off debts rather than saving money - but woohoo! we're finally solvent! I know there are some good ISA deals currently out there, thanks to everybody who posts latest deals on this forum :T…
