A&L Transfer between ISA Issues

Hi,

I have an A&L Direct ISA Issue 2 from a previous year - is it possible to transfer this in A&L Direct ISA Issue 4?

    Use 08000 688638 (option 2, then option 2 again)

If it's an internal transfer, the "rush" won't be an issue will it?

Well I have to open the new ISA first and when I did the same thing a couple of years ago bang on the new date it took simply ages so I thought I would wait a week or two and let the rush die down.

It does look like they've removed the phone transfer option - which is a pain cause it's just going to delay the money hitting the new ISA, more forms to fill in and be at the mercy of the vagaries of the postal system. What I need to find out is will they penalise us on the interest with the delay and how long it'll take...

I've just been on the phone to them and they won't let me do it online or over the phone I have to go into branch for a 45 minute appointment (GROAN)

Since the Direct ISA 4 has been around since 8th February (almost two months), haven't you "penalised" yourself by not transferring your existing A&L ISA earlier?
