Buildings insurance - in who’s name?
Hi, long story short I have a property which is mortgage free and currently my adult children live there, just paying the bills as I don’t want or need rental income (acknowledge I am fortunate to be able to do this). I have moved out to live with my fiancé and my daughter is in the process of buying her own house which…

Car bump - who is to blame
I had just parked up in a parking bay in a supermarket car park. Reversed slightly - maybe 1 ft - to position the car when a car whizzed behind scraping the rear bumper. Their car had a scrape along the drivers side fro m the front wheel arch to the back wheel. My car has slight damage, basically a slight gouge to the…

Removing something from medical records?
Around 4 years ago I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue after a few bloods tests ruled out any other causes of my extreme fatigue and flu like symptoms. Chronic fatigue is listed on my medical records (I know this as it was listed on my referral letter for a private investigation I had done). After some time and changing…

Travel Insurance
We have booked a holiday for September 2022 to America and whilst we have annual travel insurance currently (which will be renewed next month) it will likely be just to cover Europe. Do we need to have travel insurance at the stage for a holiday which is 18 months away?

Relative's correspondence from car insurer
It reads:
As you know we’ve been trying to recover the claim costs for the incident that happened on 18/08/2017. Unfortunately we are unable to take your claim any further due to us being unable to trace the third party. As you are aware the third party insurers did not cover the third party as she took the policy out 20…

Proof for Insurance claim
I hope I am posting on the right board. My 'husband' was employed, has been off sick for a long time, but was recently terminated due to medical capability. We are buying our house and recently was left money in a will, so when I completed the "Turn2us" form on Universal credit, it stated what I thought, that he is not…

Wedding Insurance Question
Hi all - hope someone can help! Our wedding venue has just gone into administration. They've verbally told me "The company has no cash in the bank so we won't be able to refund your deposit (about £6k) but the company has a lot of assets so hopefully you'll be able to get your money back when the firm responsible for the…

I have a small picture framing business, my business insurance is supposed to cover Business Interruption. Car Insurance Dilemma - Brand New Car?
Evening All, I've currently got a little bit of a dilemma with my car insurance on a new car. I've been with ByMiles since my renewal in August, paying about 6p a mile on my tariff and it works out really well for me, on average costing me between £0.70 - £1.40 on an average day. My new car is going to be registered onto a…

Lapsed Home B&B policy due to Covid
I've just been told by my insurer that my Home policy for B&B has to be treated as new business even after 10yrs as a customer because last March 2020 we didn't renew because of lock down. We did have a conversation with the insurers call centre at the time and understood that due to pandemic they'd consider it as…

Gratuitous care re personal injury claim
Is it right for my solicitor to deduct the PIP and IIDB benefits already paid to me since my accident (March 2017) from my gratuitous care claim amount ...I thought the GC amount was for my husband after all the care he provided for me, so why deduct 'my benefits' from it. Did I read correctly somewhere, that it should be…
