I have a critical illness policy with Legal & General. I was diagnosed with leukaemia in December 2020 and put in a claim ! L&G have all the info from my Consultant but are still dragging their feet ... how can someone with cancer be treated so badly ?? I’ve sent my grievance to L&G by email but still nothing ?? Andrew

It's not unusual for CI claims to take 12-14 weeks to process in normal times with people working from home then I'd imagine it would take a bit longer than normal to process.
L&G do have to ensure that you are actually entitled to the payout and will require thorough due diligence.
On the plus side, when they do pay out, payout will include payments made to date from when the claim was raised and includes interest. If it is a decreasing policy then a higher level of interest is assumed than what you may be paying on a mortgage so you may well get a bit more than you think.
