Ongoing buildings and contents claim - renewal?
Hi all, We're in the middle of a bit of a saga. We found symptoms of a leak under our concrete floor and claimed on our insurance in March 2017. The insurer's contractor's said that it was not a pipe leak and therefore not covered by our insurance policy so our claim was closed. As of January 2018, our claim has now been…

Holiday insurance - UK Cottage break
We've just booked a cottage break, and the agent tried to flog me insurance for £32 (which I politely declined). I have no worry about the cover for things like having to cancel (I'd be disappointed - but it wasn't *that* expensive) etc. One thing they [STRIKE]tried to scare me with[/STRIKE] mentioned that did make me…

Home insurance
Is there any negative impact of having the same company as your mortgage lender and home insurer? I am looking in to home insurance and Halifax seem to be offering a good deal but they are also my mortgage provider so not sure if it is wise to have them as both. They are not trying to sell me the home insurance product.
