Hi, any suggestions. We had a good combined one but its gradually gone up over the years and (I imagine) there are more options than when we first took it out. Two weeks left to go I got a call from a guy who offered me a discount from 139 to 128, I said I'd think about it as there are a lot of offers on at the moment (P.O. 50 pounds cash back etc). He asked if he should ring back I…

GAP Insurance for Cars - Bad Experience Warning!
I purchased my Ford Mondeo in September 2005 from Polar Ford and at the time they sold me GAP insurance so that if the car was written off, we would get back the full value we paid for it (less the excess). Almost 5 weeks ago we had an accident whilst on holiday in Dublin and after 2 weeks the insurers (Norwich Union)…

Cost cutting tips - is sharing a good idea?
Insurance works on the very basic principles of statistics, if on average a certain criteria causes people to have lower or higher claims (based on both frequency and value) then an insurer will rate higher or lower based on this statistical evidence - whilst some will then go on to try and explain the variances with logic…

Switching Mortgage PPI - Help with the procedure please
Hi everyone, I'm helping my mum switch her mortgage PPI over from Direct Line to Paymentcare as it is a better policy and a little cheaper. In order to not have the 60 day exclusion on the new policy we have to apply for exactly the same monthly benefit as on the old policy (£420). We remortgaged a few months back though…
