Property Insurance in France

Options
I am just about to purchase a property in France, The notaire has informed me that before the sale, I must insure the property.

I am looking for advice on the level of cover required and the costs involved, the vendor tells me that he pays 150 euros per year (about £100.00), the closest quote I have had from this side of the pond is £220.00.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Terry

What purpose are you buying the property for?

    Holiday let?
    2nd home?
    Moving to France "perminately"?

Hi - unless you have doubts over the vendors choice of insurance company why not insure with them?
  • I know Intasure insure property abroad. Maybe best to email them for a quote as it is all written in English and quite comprehensive cover.
