Wallwik simplestrip
Anyone used this? I've got to get rid of two rooms of horrendous wallpaper. I'm not sure, I think it is blown vinyl as it's got a raised pattern that is hardened (not woodchip) so I figured the steamer would have a hard time of it. Someone recommended this stuff and online reviews seem good.

kitchen larder cupboard - will this work?
I have a corner in my kitchen 38cm deep by 150cm along. I'd like to get a larder cupboard built here, do you think this would be a suitable space? Thinking of making it maybe 120cm along, not the full length, and it could protrude another couple of cm but I don't want it sticking out too much more than 40cm. I am thinking…

Appliances for renovated unit
Hi, I am trying to choose a dishwasher, range, refrigerator, air conditioner and microwave for a unit I am renovating to sell. I think I prefer mid-range price and quality, so not cheap and nasty and not too pricey. What would you recommend for my situation? Thanks. :T

Second expansion vessel
System boiler which needs a second expansion vessel. Two questions: 1) does it matter which way up the vessel is mounted? 2) Pipe work to the expansion vessel will trap air as the system is refilled - is this an issue? Appreciate a steer. Cheers, C

How do I change ceiling halogen lights?! Help!
I have four of these lights in the kitchen, two have blown so I need to replace the bulb. These fittings don’t have a clip and the bulbs don’t have a cover that’s flat so you can’t use a suction cup. There seems to be two metal clips inside, one either side of the light fitting but that’s the only clue I have. I am…

Anyone have a Shark vac?!
hoping to get some good deals this weekend on a new vac. After much research I've settled on Shark, but there are sooo many different types I'm a bit overwhelmed! We have a mixture of carpet and hard wood, so want something that can easily switch between both and won't just blow things around on the wooden floor. I think…

Low Gas Pressures at Boiler
We recently had our annual boiler service (2year old Valient Combi boiler), and were advised that the gas pressure at the boiler was low approx 11mbar. Whilst the pressure at the gas meter was found to be 20mbar. The engineer felt that the internal gas pipe was too narrow (22mm) and that to improve the pressure he advised…

Removing Butinox
An old tin of Butinox, an oil based wood stain and preservative, has rusted and leaked onto the laminate worktop in our utility room, what can I use on the stain that will remove the mess completely? Or is the only solution a new worktop? It has been there for quite a while as it was hidden away in a corner behind other…

Repairing a drilled hole
Hi all, Looking for some advice on my makeshift repair to a drilled hole (to hang a mirror). I have a 9KG mirror that I intended to hang onto plasterboard using 2 hollow wall anchors on each side of the mirror (the umbrella type). I checked for studs and my detector decided to give me false readings confirming no studs…

PVC lost from hinges - help
5 years ago my poor Mum was conned into buying a Sunroom from a pair of cowboys. The company went into liquidation 2 years later (I've since learned this was a regular occurrence for the owners, who, every few years, simply dissolve one company and then set up another similar one). One of the double glazing units failed…

Rust-proof shower caddy - does it truly exist?!
Can anyone recommend a shower caddy/organiser? Only need 2 shelves, but all the ones I've had in the past have rusted. We've also just had the bathroom done so ideally don't want to be drilling, but don't think suction would work. Maybe a free standing one for the corner of the bath? But I guess it won't be stable..…

Catalytic Oven Liners or Enamel Oven Liners
I noticed a Zanussi double oven cooker with enamel oven liners for sale. Separately for an extra £70 it's possible to buy a similar Hotpoint cooker which has catalytic oven liners. Are the catalytic oven liners effective? Are they worth the extra expense? Thanks!

Treatment for wooden beams?
We've got structural solid wooden beams all over our house, lots of them. The ones downstairs are oak and look lovely in their current state. I suspect that the upstairs ones aren't oak and are stained dark brown. Obviously we can't lighten them without major work which we won't be doing, but they need a bit of a spruce…

Hob burners black from dishwasher
Morning, I stupidly put my hob burners in the dishwasher and they have come out black. Now I know they are aluminium and shouldn’t have gone in there. What can I do to make them sparkly again? So angry with myself for doing it, it’s a new oven 😱 Would be so grateful for people’s tips. Thank you x
