Where to buy a decent, but budget shed?
Hi all, I'm looking to get a 7x5 wooden shed and base. Ideally I'm looking at spending £250, but I don't mind paying an extra £50 or so if it's going to bump me up to a better quality one. It will go in the corner of the garden, so two of the sides would be close to the fences therefore it doesn't need to be extra durable.…

Tree House Requires Planning Permission!
Our builders used leftover scrap wood from our recent building and fencing work to build my 6 year old boy a tree house on their last day on site a couple of weeks ago. Lo and Behold, yesterday cometh a lady from the council saying that we must apply for planning permission for it! A neighbor had complained to the council…

Storage loft
Hi all, I live in a mid terrace 2 storey three bedroom house built in 1973. I'd like a loft conversion but the low roof height means it would have to be roof raise job and I just can't afford it. Pros/Cons of Wooden Floor v Wooden Laminate
Was wondering what you think are the pros & cons of sanding a wooden floor and staining/polishing it, as opposed to laying laminate wooden boards on top of it? For example, does the laminate reduce heat loss though the floor, noise produced when walking on either surface, aesthetics, price, or anything else. Thanks! :)

How to check if I need a new roof?
Hi everyone Need your advice please. We are currently getting a loft extension and builder has just said all roof tiles need replacing. I am fitting new carpets to my flat. The last ones were laid 7 years ago, with new underlay, but now they just very dirty and stained. Would you bother replacing the underlay at the same time? As far as I can see it is in good condition.

What screw???
Hi Have some very big heavy Pax wardrobes with mirrored doors to fix to the wall. They are second hand so don't have the wall fixings (but have everything else). With any luck I should be moving into my new (to me) flat in the next few months. I will need to buy a dining table and chairs. Such things seem to be astonishingly expensive. 3 houses' rain water disappearing into my garden
The water from the guttering of three terrace houses flows down my downpipe, under my garden, under the pavement, and into the street where it flows into a public drain. That's the theory anyway, as the water is going in but not coming out! I guess it is seeping into the ground, which could cause damp issues. Initial…
