Window sills

I am trying to find a place which sells window sill extenders. I.e. sells a ready made window sill which I put on top of the current one, so we have bigger window sills for plants etc.

Can't you just buy a plank with a rounded edge and cut it to fit?

You will have to buy custom made-to-measure anyway I would have thought. Can't see many places keeping hundreds of different window widths in stock.

That is what I think but someone told me this is much easier (without any references or anything more helpful).

Internal window boards? I don't think those are called cills/sills. Sills/cills are external and fix to the window.

Get some wood and make some. You can find wood of any size you require at a wooodyard

Interior window sill / window sill board / window board - Architects/engineers/builders/manufacturers all use these terms interchangeably so I don't think there is a right or wrong term really.

I have seen window sill extenders that aren't permanent, is it possible that is what was meant? They are basically a board with brackets, like this: http://istart.org/media/render/idx/NPGPWGLFcLQR/thumbnail/800/file/Plant+one+on+US+white+72.JPG-800.jpg although I'm sure there are other types as well (longer, made of timber etc.).
