Buying a new kitchen
Hi there I realise this probably repeats some older posts but am hoping for some slightly tailored advice. This will involve removing a stud wall and opening up an old…

Fitting non-Ikea tap & waste to Ikea basin?
As per the title really :) Think the Lillangen Ikea basin & vanity cabinet might be just the right size in our new bathroom - but we don't want any of the Ikea taps, and ideally a different waste too. Looking on the Ikea website they helpfully don't have detail drawing or dimensions - and I've found some worrying hints…

We are buying a house that has had it's front rendered and there are a number of cracks in the render, and also the render is patchy - like parts of it have been redone in slightly different colours. It's a semi-detached and next door seems to have been rendered more recently as it also has some cracks but fewer. The sides…

Electric screwdriver / drill
Hi, I am a very part time DIYer, so don't use tools much. However my very old Bosch cordless screwdriver has given up the ghost finally. It didn't have many features, just clockwise, anticlockwise and a few power settings, the final "drill" one being just about strong enough to put a 1 1/2" wood screw into a blancmange. I…

No water / water pressure problem
Hello, I wonder if anyone has had a similar problem and offer advice? I live in a third floor flat and repeatedly get no cold water to the flat. The problem doesn't affect any of my neighbours. I've worked out the water pressure is going up to 4 bar and a valve set at 3 bar is stopping the water flow. If I go down to the…
