Shower curtain or glass door

Options
Opinions please
I have a glass door, over time it gets mouldy no matter what I try to clean it with
Previously had shower curtain and that sticks to you -yuk
However was at a Premier inn and they had a curved shower rail and curtain didn't stick to me
What do you prefer?

  • Glass door all day long, shower durian looks awful in my opinion. I use a squeegee to wipe down the door after a shower and have no problems with mould. Leave the bathroom door open so it dries out too.

Glass looks so much nicer but water stains etc can be a pain.

I have curtains due to mobility issues and my tendency to wobble into things.. the advantages are they can be stuffed in washing machine.. I have cut mine shorter and hemmed them so there isn't extra length (i have shower screens but works if over bath). No problem with them sticking to me but I have bought the heavier fabric type not the pvc which do seem to stick.

If I had free choice it would definitely be glass.

If you have safety to think about (kids, elederly relatives etc) curtains might be safer.

Glass every time, I can't stand shower curtains.

A quick wipe over with Harpic or the like once a week keeps the limescale stains off. The only bit that annoys me is the sealing strip along the bottom, that eventually gets mouldy inside it, but they're cheap enough to buy on ebay and easy enough to replace a couple of times a year.

we used both as had power shower and the water went all over when u took it off the holder.

the screens easly to clean with toilet lime scale remover then just rinse off
  • Had both and although the curtain sticks to me I prefer it as it can be cleaned in the washing machine, had two glass screens and they were never clean enough for me.

Glass wouldn't want to use a shower curtain as they can get moldy unless you open them out and allow them to dry

Definitely glass - just spray with Clean Shower (from Lakeland) at end of shower and leave: no limescale even in a hard water area. Squeedgee would also work, but I'm lazy......:o

Curtain, in two houses when I moved in there was a glass screen, none of them did anything to contain the water from the shower. I've never had a problem with a shower curtain sticking to me, what sort do you use, we have the ones that look like material, they don't look like a sheet of plastic.
  • glass screen every time. We're currently having to use a curtain, as have just moved in and planning to re-do the bathroom. Hate it - it's cold when it clings, it drips all over the floor, it goes mouldy if you turn your back on it for 5 minutes. A screen is so much easier to keep clean, and looks nicer too.
