PVC Door not locking problem - Please help!

Hi all.

We have a PVC door in our kitchen that has a problem!

The door closes tight and you can lock the door as normal. However, when you put some pressure on the handle after say the 3rd or 4th forceful pressure on the handle and door will open, as if the lock has failed.

However, if you lock the door when the door is still open, the lock stays in place and does not fail, and you need to open the lock with the key and it works correctly.

We have looked and the lock is fitting in the receiver correctly, and this has puzzled us.

Any advice appreciated.

Darren

  • By the way you've described it i would guess the lock has failed, will get progressively worse. New centre case or lock strip req

Agree with above, the mechanism has failed. Get it sorted quickly before it totally gives up.
