Edison screw ceiling light fittings
Where on earth can I buy a plain edison screw (E27) ceiling light fitting from? I don't mean a fancy decorative one, I mean the bog standard white cable and fitting that you attach your own lightshade to. One of mine has broken and I can't find them in any shops like Homebase or B&Q, they only seem to do bayonet. I found a…

The best place to buy coffee beans?
I'm sure the supermarkets supply them, but is there a better way to buy them, in terms of quality or price? If you want to add your preferences of makers, filters, etc, that would also be welcome.

How do TRV's determine the temperature of a room?
I've always thought that the TRV plastic control knobs placed over the top of the pin are used to set the desired room temperature only, although do they actually help TRV's to sense the room temperature as well? The Wikipedia article on TRV's is a bit hard to follow, it seems to suggest this. Thanks

Dishwashers too tall...
Hi, I have a query regarding installing a dishwasher into a kitchen that doesn't currently have one. I'm not looking at integrated (cupboard door) style dishwashers, just the standard ones as I want to pick something up for around £200 or less. The space I have is height 84cm and all the dishwashers I've seen are quoted as…

Decorator using quick drying polyfilla to fill wood. Is this ok?
Hi, We are having our freshly renovated house decorated and the decorator is using quick drying polly filler to fill the screw holes in the skirting board and holes in the door frame where the handles used to be at a different height. This has made me very worried shouldn't this be done with 2 Pack filler? Cheers
