2 gang 2 way switch

Hi,

With the down stairs switchs both set to the same position

To turn the lights on upstairs and downstairs the upstairs the switches go to oposite positions .

Could this be rectified by getting an electricain to switch round the L1 and L2 wires? on one of the switches

Thanks

Yes but if you are confident in how to turn the mains off and how to use a screwdriver you could save yourself around £30 (or more).

Take out the 2 screws on the front, check the cable behind, turn the switch upside down. Put it back on.
  • isn't there a switch upstairs?

put both swiches 1 way then go upstairs and turn the light on/off or am i missing something.

I didn't like to mention that and wondering why it matters.

    O.C.D.?

Personally if there was only one switch for a light, it should be top for off, bottom for on. But where there are two or more switches, such as on stairs or opposite sides of a room, I frankly don't care - its inevitable that it'll be opposite to the "norm".

There are two switches downstairs and two upstairs. Both 2 gang. 16201_P

If both switches are up down stairs then to put all the lights on (upstairs hall and downstairs hall) one switch upstairs is up and the other is down.

Yes it doesn't really mater but it isn't right :-)
If I turn it upside down it will still be the same!

All depends on where the lights are turned on/off from. You'll never get them the same unless you only ever turn on/off from either upstairs or downstairs which completely defeats the object of a 2 way switch imo
