Edison screw ceiling light fittings

Where on earth can I buy a plain edison screw (E27) ceiling light fitting from? I don't mean a fancy decorative one, I mean the bog standard white cable and fitting that you attach your own lightshade to. One of mine has broken and I can't find them in any shops like Homebase or B&Q, they only seem to do bayonet. I found a couple online but they're on US websites and cost a fortune and they're metal, I just want a cheapy white plastic one!
Edit: like this but not bayonet: http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=110&storeId=10151&partNumber=129911

I honestly don't know! Will that attach onto the end of the pendant I've already got? I don't know if it's a straight replacement or whether it's meant for another purpose. I've seen quite a few of those online, just the lamp holder on its own, but most of them mention stuff like they have holes so you can screw them onto lamp bases, so I thought they were for making/fixing lamps with, rather than for ceiling pendants. That's why I was looking for the whole kit - that way I know I'm definitely buying the right thing. I'm surprised how hard they are to find, I just got mine in a DIY shops a few years ago for a couple of quid.
Just realised I didn't include the all-important word 'ceiling' in my OP - edited!0 -
I had a problem a while ago trying to replace one of those. In the end the cost of just getting bayonet fittings was cheaper, so just switched the knackered screw fitting ceiling rose lampholder to bayonet.
If the likes of homebase don't have them, see if you can source any small electrical shops, or general household shops as they may have it.
Ikea has this:
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10081557/ which is screw fitting, black or white. (could probably take the fitting off the end and attach to the current rose wire (probably, not an electrician!!! So check that out)
Otherwise you can buy adaptors as well, bayonet to whatever you want.0 -
Perhpas one of these may help:

Why does it have to be an ES27 fitting? Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper just to replace the lampholder with a bayonet equivalent? They are very cheap and easily wired.
Then you could use ordinary bayonet fitting lamps, or do you have a special ES lamp you need to use?

Ikea's pendant lamps are always ES fitting - http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10081557/#/00067854. You could chop the cable and wire it into a normal ceiling rose.0

Also I have a lifetime's supply of screw bulbs already.
I know what you mean, I'm a little similar, I have re-used all the old ceiling roses in my home because they are smaller and neater looking than the clunky new type.
One thing to bear in mind though is that I doubt all ES lampholders look the same so you're probably looking for a particular type of ES holder. One the other hand you may well find there are lampholders that come in ES and BC versions that look identical from the outside...Solar install June 2022, Bath
