have inherited a large chinese rug (12' x 9') which could do with being cleaned; should I try cleaning it myself with a Vax or get a specialist company or an ordinary carpet cleaning company to clean it? Any tips or suggestions welcomed, thanks.

We then put a cabinet on the granite (it's like a wall cabinet that goes all the way to the surfaces) After a short space of time (less than a week) we noticed a a crack had appeared down the middle. We phoned the people that installed it and they came and gave us some options about ways…

sizing gas pipe for boilers
Got 2 quotes on the replacement of my combi-boiler. One of them mentioned that gas pipe needs to be 22mm. However, the other didn't even mention gas pipe at all. I assume the latter just assumed if the old boiler works, the same pipe will work for the new boiler. I don't know much about combi-boilers, so can anyone explain…

Vaillant EcoTec Fault F28
Hi all, I am looking after a house which is currently empty. It has a Vaillant Eco Tec boiler, and the central heating is left on. It developed a very small leak - just a small drip. This caused the pressure to drop, and the system shut off with fault code F25 - low pressure. I took care of the leak, and topped up the…

Can I varnish an indoor wall?
I realise this may be a rather odd question! I would like to decorate my bathroom in a penguins theme (bit of a fetish, let's not go there :rotfl: ). I have found some very cool decor items such as wall sticker - but they're all really expensive. I had this thought that I could paint the walls some kind of blue or white,…

Hoping someone can help, either they know a perfect product or fancy a design challenge. We have 3 boys sharing a bedroom. So currently we have a shorty bunk with a…
