Emulsion new skim

Hi
I removed some tongue and groove panneling from my hall, stairs and landing and was planning to sand down the old paint, however, after having a decent quote from a plasterer to re-skim the lot I am going for that option.
My query is once he has reskimmed how long should I wait before emulsioning?
Also - do i have to do a mist coat and should i use the same for my mist coat as what i will use for my final coats? I want to use dulux matt in a beige colour.

Thanks in advance.

Paint first coat with thinned contract emulsion about 20% and you can paint as soon as the plaster is dry .For a skim coat it only takes a couple of days to dry out in the right conditions
