Natural white lights (not LED)

So im looking into replacing some light bulbs around the house. Currently 99% of the lighting is halogen (35w GU10 i believe)
Now they are bright enough but im really getting fed up of warm, yellowy(?) light, and its not the best light when trying to design in the evenings.
Ive seen the coolwhite / natural light LED bulbs but i cant really justify upto £30 per bulb.
does anyone know / recommend where to buy natural white light bulbs, preferably spot light to replace my existing halogens.
thanks all

Any decent bulb shop (online) will give you a choice of colour temperatures.
If you're really after daylight-equivalent though, I'd suggest using a proper table lamp/anglepoise to illuminate your work area.0 -
Megaman are probably one of the bst ones I would reccommend they do an 11w GU10 in cool white or look for colour 940 ish. Pop down to any electrical wholesaler they should do them and might be slightly cheaper.
Certainly pays to shop around judging by the prices ive seen on the three sites listed £6 - 14 ??

thanks for the links, will look more into them however they do appear to be energy saving bulbs.
I assume that even tho they may have a better quality light ie) whiter, they will probably have the same problem of not being nearly as bright as the equivalent none energy saver.
i was hoping to find a 4200k halogen but i suppose they wouldnt be halogen if they had that colour temperature right?0 -
The 11 w ones should give the same amount of light as 50w ones, the light output drops slightly when you go to warm whitebaldly going on...0

A few good LED websites will be able to give you warm white and cool white variants and show you how they will look using images.
Some Cool White LED's can look very blue though. Also you might not need as many watts with cool white to achieve what you want as you would with warm white.
Hope that is helpful0
