Faulty Heating System
:( Hi everybody I moved to a new house and have a combination boiler installed which is less than two years old. Hot water and radiators in ground floor work perfect but upstairs radiators just get hot in lower parts, so the top parts of radiators are always cold. I thought there is some air trapped inside the radiators…

Integrated Dishwasher and WasherDryer deal?
I am trying to find an integrated dishwasher and anintegrated washerdryer. These are the last things to go in our first house so the money really has dried up. Has anyone seen any sites or shops offering this particular combo. I did really well on the oven set with MFI and have fridge freezer already. Hoping someone has…

Front Door Security
Hi We have a pvcu/upvc (not sure what the difference is - the cheap double glazing type option!) type front door and only have a 5 lever mortice lock, which if we don't use a key to lock as we enter/leave the house means that it stays unlocked. I was after getting a rimlock (extra key which aotmatically locks the door) but…

Re leaking shower - are Mira trying it on?
We've had our present shower for many years. It's wired into the wall and the leak is coming from behind the control casing, thus very dangerous so no shower usage! I rang Mira re having it repaired and was told that they stopped making that model (Mira Supreme 8.4) in 1992 so no parts available, therefore we'd have…

Non stick frying pan
No matter what I do all my little frying pans become non non-stick after a few months. What am I doing wrong. My latest is a Tefal with a life time guarantee. Sadly the guarantee is only about the coating blistering or cracking not about the stickability.

Cooker always warm... advice needed.
We have a fan assisted oven which always has some warmth to it - more than just residual heat, and it often makes that cooling down 'ticking' noise, even when it has not been on for a ages. This is a bit worrying as it seems it is always on, even if it is just low. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what might be wrong…

Conservatory Blinds
Any advice on conservatory roof blinds to replace the pleated type we currently have. Our conservatory is of the traditional type, i.e. for plants rather than an living extension with a roof pitch of about 30 degrees in two directions i.e. no awkward corners. The existing blinds are a nightmare to keep clear of dead…

Hoover Washer/Dryer A8534
Hello, I have recently been 'donated' a Hoover Logic Washer/Dryer 1300 (model no. A8534) after my previous machine packed up for good, but unfortunately the words on the front of the washing powder tray (the ones that tell you what setting does what) have been virtually entirely worn away. I'm not bothered about an entire…

Renovation ball-park costs
We have seen a local big house advertised cheaply (well in the scheme of things) that we love. Can't view until Saturday at a block viewing, so assume it will be popular and full of developer types. But we are in a good position with a big deposit and are first time buyers. We realise it needs a lots of work and are hoping…

Penetrating damp ?
Hi Bought my house 2 years ago and had a home buyer's survey which did not pick up any sign of damp. About a year ago I had a new valuation and the surveyor mentioned a potential damp problem. At the time, water was gathering near the front of the house after rainfall and I was told to fix this problem before tackling the…

Woodlouse in da house
We have a Victorian home, with 100+ years of dust between the floorboards (of the bedrooms) and the ceiling (of the downstairs). We are suffering from greater numbers of woodlouse, which appear to be coming from the floor/ceiling gap. Is there a solution to getting rid of them? We also have them downstairs (again, likely…
