Solicitor failed to register my house purchase with Land Registry
I have just found out (almost 3 months after completing) that my solicitor failed to register me as the new owner of my current property with the Land Registry. How do I now double-check that this has been properly done, what documentation should I ask to see? How serious a failing is it on their part? Thanks

Getting married - what difference will it make?
My partner and I bought a house last year as Tenants in Common (although we haven’t got round to drawing up a Declaration of how much each of us will own). We are now about to get married. What difference will this make to our house ownership? Neither of us have a will. We just want each other to inherit everything if the…

Buy Now or Later
The more we (me and partner) look at houses the more I'm in 2 minds. We've been looking at the very top end of our budget we can get a 3 bed house, but doing this we're making compromises on location or transport links etc. We were thinking 3 beds so we will be there for the long term, and we wouldn't outgrow it. However,…

Flats listed as house??
Hi all, I've been living in a flat for the last two years and I'm moving out in a weeks time. The flat is one of three that have been converted in a three storey Victorian house. My question surrounds the fact that as long as I've lived there the landlord has had it listed as one property, therefore all bills; council tax,…

Neighbours moved out but seems weird
On Tuesday our neighbour put up a "To Let" sign, within 24 hours they had moved out completely. Seems very odd, it is advertised privately for rent. A couple of blokes in dodgy looking Van's turned up to help them move out, but they did not appear to know our neighbours, as they introduced themselves to each other when…

Issues with landlord
I have just moved into a privately rented house. We were told to sign the inventory when we were picking up the keys, and that any issues could be reviewed when we did a second signing, within a week of moving in. In this time, we have noticed that the window in one of the bedrooms is cracked, which wasn't noted. The…
