Valuation today does this mean credit score OK??

I have applied for a mortgage with woolwich, through a broker. I recieved a text from e.surv today saying that the property is being valued today. Does this mean that we will have cleared credit scoring etc...
Cheers

  • Depends on your lender. My buyers had to have their mortgage approved before the valuation was done. Their lender was Abbey.
  • Not always , we took our mortgage out with the Halifax and they did the survey before we got our mortgage offer.
  • I'm in the same boat as the original poster. Got a text from woolwich saying they've instructed a valuation. I hope that means the credit scores were OK. Because I'd hate to pay the valuation fee if they are gonna have problems with the credit score later on!
  • I don't know the answer for definite but I would find it a little perculiar if companies sent people out to carry out valuations without reviewing the credit history first?
