Offers over...
I've seen a place I'd like to put an offer on, but it's stated as 'offers over' £65000. Is it strictly offers over that amount only? Thanks

Possible decision made!
I think i'm going to move on from the repo house i was outbidded on and look for something else. Otherwise, i can just see a giant cat and mouse game going on for a couple of wks! Plus it's too risky when you consider what needs to be done to the property, would like to avoid bidding war, so am going to admit defeat. I…

Showing people round house - taking shoes off
I have got to show some potential buyers around my house today. I have a real thing about shoes in houses, does anybody think that it is strange or rude to ask them to take off their shoes when they come and have a look round. thanks

What to offer Sticky?
It seems a large number of new members are continuously asking what to offer on a property without researching the forums. Perhaps its time for a sticky? For what its worth - NO-ONE can tell you what to offer on a property. However, please consider the below to help you make the decision: 1)Check websites like…

what to offer for a reposessed house
I'm considering putting an offer in for a reposessed flat. It's been reposessed by a financial company and sold through an estate agent. it's been on the market for 2 weeks now. the property is in need of refurbishment. I'm estimating it will cost about 30.000k. it's on the market for 200.000k and it has 3 bedrooms. 3…

Building survey report
Hi, I recently got a full building survey done on a property we are keen to buy and we have now got the report back. Do I pay mortgage application fee if I pull out of purchase
I am an FTB who has just had a Home Buyer Survey done on a Basement flat in a Victorian conversion property. So far I only have a verbal report from the Surveyor (written report due next week) but he detailed several serious problems. He suggested he'd probably recommend a retention of £3K or £4K. From reading other…

Inventory
Hello! I'm currently renting a flat - when I first moved in about a year ago, I checked the inventory thoroughly, and made a few corrections to it, signed it, and sent it to the letting agents. However, I carelessly forgot to make a photocopy of it. I then phoned them a 3 times over the next 3 months, asking them to send…

Unsure what to offer
Ok. I'm posting because my sister, like me, is a ftb and has fallen in love with a house in south east area. I told her to offer 30% less than asking and go up in little bits. Is this good advice or not. The house is 279,950 so I said offer 195,950, then 196,500 and finish with 198,000. What do you think?;)

Terms of Business
Hi all I'd like to run this scenario past the forum members to get different opinions. If you hired the service of a well known letting agent who was providing you with a good service for 8 months. Then, out of the blue, the well known agent is bought by another letting agent who then started providing you with a terrible…

I am in the process of moving out of a student house into a private house. Hi folks, We have a £245k mortgage offer from Nationwide currently on a property valued at £385k (63.64% LTV) However, we negotiated a further £10k off this price 2 weeks ago and naively thought that our solicitor would advise Nationwide as they need to produce a new offer.
