    Your post is rather long.

Are you bankrupt & your fiancee is getting his house repossessed? I can't see either of your credit checks coming back perfect then.

Given it's after 6.30 on Friday night, I doubt much will be done til Monday. Even if the agent is open over the weekend, it's usually just to conduct viewings - if they get a thrid part to do the checks, they may not be open.

Can you not talk to your current LL about your plans, & hand in your notice (IN WRITING) with the option to stay a few days longer & pay pro rata if this property doesn't happen?

I would not give notice. If they cant be bothered helping when you have ade it clear, the landlord wont get his tennants in when he wants, but that is tough.

Can you look elsewhere with a different agent? or a private let?

I was trying to get all the detail in. Im the discharged bankrupt, i told them on wednesday that i had gotten my dad to fill in the garantor (sp) and they said they won't need that as my fiances income will cover the rent. It is my fiance that is getting his house repossed. They told me that homelet who are doing the checks work overnight.

I only have an address i think for the landlord and he lives in another county.

I think that its looking like we are going to have to look else where. We paid them 46.00 each to do the checks.

However better to lose £100 than have a year of dealing with an incompetent agency I am afraid.

Thats true. I have been renting through them for 3 and half years now, and with repairs have been good, but when it comes to trying to rent they are not so good.
