Question re: Root Canal/Crown
Hi Guys I had a root canal done years ago (at least 6 years ago) and have no problems with it what so ever. Then last July whilst eating lunch part of the tooth broke off (only a small piece, say one corner). Went to the dentist and they said I needed a crown fitted but it was going to cost £200 (which I didn't have) so…

Data Protection/Access To Personal Information
Hi Basically, someone I know has been treated appallingly by her Mental Health Team and it's all secretive as to why. She has complained today to PALS, but is awaiting their response. She would like access to her files from the Mental Health Team. Does this mean she has to write asking for them and is any cost likely to be…

What is the best way to dry ear canals?
I usually get water trapped in my ears after a shower or after swimming, this is very annoying and i would like to know a rather cheap solution to this. The ideas i have so far are either getting a bulb syringe or a normal ear syringe and just blowing air into my ears, not sure if this would work though. The other idea…

New haircut ideas please?
Can anyone suggest what I can do with my hair? It's so long that it's getting on my nerves and takes ages to detangle, to wash, dry, brush etc. Currently it's long, thick and more or less straight-ish, with a bit of a kink, and I have a fringe, which is currently down to the end of my nose and so I brush it to the sides.…

Chiropodist or just a pedicure?
I have hard skin on my feet - mainly on the side of my big toes plus a patch on the ball of one foot. I've tried topical softeners, cheese grater type tools, putting various thicknesses of cream and socks on overnight etc to no avail :-( So do I 'just' need a good pedicure or a visit to the chiropodist?? Your thoughts are…

Invisalign caused bite problems
Hi I had Invisalign braces 4 yrs ago as an adult. I was happy with the result but my current dentist (not the one who did the braces) has just told me it's created a bite problem, causing my bottom front teeth to gradually wear out the upper teeth so much that I've chipped one tooth badly and two are pretty thin. I'm…

Pinguecula & 'Dry eyes'
My Partner has seen the Doctor and been diagnosed, no problem. Just curious if anyone else has had this/these problems. How long did it last? Did you get back to 'normal'? Is there anything you think that caused/aggravated it - or was it just one of the prices paid for ageing!?

Nectar & Fitbug - how to register for points?!
Hi there, Looking at signing up with Fitbug, but can't work out how to link the bug to my Nectar card. Everything I read implies that you do it when you sign up... but other than the promo code bit, there's nowhere for me to add Nectar card number. (And sticking it in the promo code bit doesn't work - tried that.) Anyone…

14 hours on water only for fasting bloods - really???
DH has just had to cancel a blood test at our GP that he was due tomorrow as he's found out he has to fast for 14 hours, nothing other than plain tap water in that time. He wasn't told that detail at the time of booking it, I've only just been told on calling them to check. Given that his appointment is 8.40 and he's stuck…
