Nectar & Fitbug - how to register for points?!

Hi there,

Looking at signing up with Fitbug, but can't work out how to link the bug to my Nectar card. Everything I read implies that you do it when you sign up... but other than the promo code bit, there's nowhere for me to add Nectar card number. (And sticking it in the promo code bit doesn't work - tried that.)

Anyone got any idea how it works?

Thanks in advance! :)

  • I haven't got an answer to your question....yet! I clicked onto your post to see what a Fitbug was, and now I know (after reading reviews etc), I want one, and am very tempted to sign up! I'm not sure if I would go for the 12 month one, or the monthly one yet.

I also like the idea that you can collect Nectar points too! :j

If I do sign up and figure out the Nectar card thing, I'll report back and let you know :)

    Thanks Georgiegirl.

Yeah, the Nectar points are appealing. :) I might send Fitbug support a quick email to see if they can shed any light...

  • From what I can gather, you've got to order the bug first, then register, and in the registration part, there's maybe somewhere there to enter it??

I'm not convinced that there is - a friend of mine had one and said she didn't have to add her Nectar card details when registering the bug. She figured she must just have added details during sign-up... And she never got any points.

Ah... got an email back from their support team, though it's just general info you can get from the site:

"Thank you for your email. Sign up to a Nectar Fitbugplan at www.fitbug.com/nectar. Addyour Nectar card number during the sign up process. You'll be awarded 2 pointsper £1 spent on membership, and will then collect points for healthy activity:
    6,000 to 9,999 steps 1 point
    10,000 to 11,999 steps 5 points
12,000 steps and more 10 points
    10,000 steps or more
5 days in one week 10 extra

Plus, collect 1 point every day when you log two meals in the Nectar Fitbugfood diary. Your points will be awarded within 28 days."

Sigh. Will go back to them.

I'm only vaguely interested in how many steps I rack up each day and because I'm a runner, getting points from steps should be pretty easy and the Nectar points would be fab. (Though financially I'd be better off just not buying a Fitbug and keeping the cash.)

  • I signed up for a fitbug orb a few weeks ago and it's been really useful and helps motivate me to do more exercise.

I wanted to connect my nectar card to get extra points but I haven't managed to find anywhere to put my nectar card number to link it to my fitbug account yet. I've tried all the settings and can't see anything helpful.

I'll keep looking and let you know if I find anything but I didn't see anywhere to put it during the sign up process.

I don't want to discourage anyone from getting a fitbug as I do think they're really good but linking a nectar card seems to be more difficult than I expected.
  • Ok I've managed to find a webpage which shows how to link rewards programs to fitbug accounts but it doesn't show how to link nectar cards.

If you go to contact us->support centre then down the left hand side it says 'reward points' (sorry not allowed to post links as I'm a new user)

I'll carry on trying to find whether it's possible to link them.
