New to Contact Lenses - Blurred Vision...

Hi all...I've just started a contacts trial with Specsavers. I need to have toric lenses which is fine. However, this is my second day of wearing them, and my vision is blurred in my left eye. It's almost like the prescription is wrong. Is this normal????
I darn't drive whilst wearing them, I can't see the PC screen clearly, nor the otherside of the office. I'm normally short sighted (I need glasses to see distances?!)
Any suggestions?

Are they monthly lenses? Were they blurry yesterday? Is it blur or "cloudiness"? It could be that the left one needs a bit more of a clean as there could still be some lipids/ proteins on the lens from wearing them the day before. If it has been blurry since you got it, take it out and phone your opticians to make sure everything is correct.0

It's been blurred since i got them. They are monthly toric lenses. I had an eye test in Oct with Optical Express, as our corperate scheme is with them, but a couple of colleagues have complained that their prescriptions are wrong since visiting OE.0 -

It's probably best to try a different optician for a second opinion then. I think you can get an eye test free under the two year limit if the last prescription is wrong (ETA: or if your eyes have changed - I got one free not long ago because my right eye got worse within a year).0 -
I had the same happen to me with one contact- it was blurry on the first insertion so definitely not a case of it not being clean.
I had a contact lens check up later that month and the optician was mystified as to how I could see perfectly with one eye and nothing in the other eye. I was advised to replace them with a fresh pair.
Since a few people have complained I'd try a different optician too. It certainly sounds like they've made a slip up with your prescription.0 -
Is Specsavers close enough for you to give them a call and see if you can pop in for a check? But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Well, I had my eyes tested with optical express but the contact trial is with Specsavers. I went back on Thursday about it and they've agreed that my prescription is wrong, so they redid it and I'm getting some new lenses next week. Will never use OE again!0

It does sound as if they've got your prescription wrong. Probably best not to wear the lenses for now, maybe call in to the store and see what they say? Perhaps try another opticians too.
I was given the wrong prescription by Specsavers for glasses. I spent a fortune on a new pair, and when I complained someone else in the store tested my eyes and said the prescription was way out. I decided it was better not to go to Specsavers and after getting a refund on the glasses took my business elsewhere.
Hope you get your lenses sorted.0 -
they got mine wrong first time. i knew straight away but they said its just where it was new to me. needless to say i was back a week later as it was the wrong prescription!0
