How to prepare feet for flip flops!!!

I am going on holiday in about 10 days' time and I have bought myself a lovely new pair of flip flops! I haven't worn flip flops for years - any advice as to how to harden up the skin between my toes so I am not crippled!

Just wear them about the house for a bit to get used to them - or go on a long walk.

That hasn't worked in the past, but thanks. Going for a long walk will produce blisters! Because of a long term health problem I need to avoid blisters etc as best I can. I have just been told elsewhere that I can buy special strips from Boots (didn't know they existed) so will get some tomorrow.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Buying the right flip flops helps too. I find leather ones are fine, but plastic ones are awful.

I bought a really expensive pair 3 years ago (last time I wore them) and ended up crippled!

If they are leather maybe try some leather dressing on them to soften it further? I find thicker 'thongs' on them always blister for me, but the fine leather ones I am fine. My feet blister REALLY easily, even in shoes I wear often, so finally learning what sort of flip flops worked for me has been a subleasing in the summer:o

Maybe you should forget the flip flops and get something more suitable, in that case.

I did buy some very expensive sandals from Clarks the other day - Unstructured. £55.00 per pair. Been wearing them around the house today and they are so comfortable. Will wear those most of the time and flip flops will be fine for just around the pool.

That sounds better. I personally hate flip flops and if I had my way they would be banned from everywhere apart from the beach/around a pool.

I can't help looking at people's feet when they have them on, and unless they have really nice feet, it makes me feel sick :D
