We rent a flat through an agency that is privately owned, it is above a shop. Our energy meters are in the basement of the shop which as you can imagine is a complete faff trying to get readings, through a hatch down a ladder, shop closed during lock down. We are having problems trying to get them moved to a suitable place…

British Gas trick
I was recently persuaded to cancel a switch away from British Gas by one of their representatives phoning me and offering me a slightly cheaper monthly direct debit payment. What they didn't tell me was that in order to give me this low monthly payment they used over two hundred pounds of credit which had built up on my…

Incorrect gas meter calculations
I have just been informed by my current provider, SO Energy that my gas meter is registered centrally as recording useage as m3 when actually it is recording cu ft. The result is I've been overcharged by about £500 since October. Whilst it is great they spotted it I am now thinking perhaps I've been overpaying with…

Time of Use Tariffs (Half-hourly readings required)
I’m already on a Time of Use tariff - Bulb’s Smart Tariff. After a few hiccups it seems to be working well and saving at pre-21 June increase prices around £5 a month with little or no effort. Given the Smart Tariff hasn’t got up my savings should increase. I don’t have an EV and am retired. I can download my HHly data,…

Relocating gas stop tap/and maybe meter
We bought a house in April. We then found out the gas meter doesn’t turn on and called up BG, they sent an engineer a month later. Automatic compensation rules - are they clear?
I am having some difficulty getting the second of the two potential £30 compensations from an ex-supplier. I note that Ofgem says in its consumer-facing information: Suppliers have 10 working days from a breach to pay you [the automatic compensation]. They could owe a further £30 if they don’t meet this timeline. Why do…

Dual fuel switch - new build
Hi all, We recently moved into a new build, the house-builder had used British Gas for electricity & gas, who I had a letter from the other day. British Gas Incompetence
I have been having issues with BG for the past 5-6 years, it started when i moved into a new build 2 bedroom house and BG was the only supplier for the property, i signed up and gave readings and bank info for DD, they took payments for the first 3 months then billed me for an additional £1200 for no reason, this took 3…

E-ON destroyed Credit Rating
E-ON supplied me for dual fuel until 16/03/19 when I switched supplier. Final bill seemed very high as I'd paid direct debit each month and had not spent as much time in the property. I requested E-ON arrange to test my meters for accuracy as I did not think the bill could be correct but they would not entertain this as…
