SMETS2 Meter Upgrades
From my (quite likely wrong?) understanding some types of Smart SMETS1 meters can be upgraded to 2 via a firmware (or similar) upgrade applied. No issue there.I have noted a few suppliers afaik have an FAQ where the question is "what type of meter do I have" and the last one I read pointed out if you have a monochrome IHD…

Installing central heating?
I’ve just moved into a 2 bed flat which is heated with electric room heaters. The bills are astronomical and the property does have a gas supply which I don’t think has ever been used. I have the gas company coming next week to see if the supply is live or not. I’m considering installing central heating or possibly even…

Two broken boiler PCB's after Smart meter... Coincidence?
I'm with Avro Energy. I had a Smart meter fitted on the 20th November. My brother (also with Avro), had his installed a week before me. Just over a week ago, my brother's boiler packed in, and had Homeserve out to fix it. He had to have the PCB replaced. On Thursday just gone, my boiler packed in, and Homeserve has been…

Do you leave your heating on all day when at home?
I've just moved into a apartment. It's the first time I've lived alone. I was thinking people left heating on in winter, but I've just rest a article by Martin Lewis saying turn off heating then back on when needed?

Are SMETS 2 Smart meters any good?
In July 2020 my then energy supplier (E on) installed Smart Meters for my Gas and Electricity supplies. All worked well, until in October, I switched supplier, via the Money Saving Energy Club of course! My new supplier, Shell Energy, now say they are unable to gain information from my meters, and ask that I supply…

Cheap Energy Club & Cashback?
Cheap Energy Club & Cashback? My comparison on Cheap Energy Club indicates that I would get a cashback for switching the tariff with my current supplier, has anyone received a cashback on switching tariff with their current supplier? (I was under the impression that commissions and customer’s incentives would only be…

Eversmart (remember them?) backbilling complaint rejected by Energy Ombudsman. What next?
Utilita took over my account from Eversmart after they went bust in 2019. In August this year I was billed by Utilita for energy consumed while I was with Utilita (from 2018 until September 2019). I feel I am protected against being backbilled for energy consumed before August 2019 (since I was billed by Utilita in August…

Are there any really good energy firms?
Having been through Seeboard, BG, Virgin, EDF, Npower, SP, Coop, Tonik and now back at SP am exhausted and am as yet to find a really good energy company! Thought of Shell but their getting bad reports. Considered Octopus energy but mixed comments. And of course switching is not without its stresses. Still waiting for my…

E-ON have just billed my quarterly payment a month earlier than usual, just in time for Christmas!
I pay my energy bill (Gas & Electricity combined) quarterly by debit card, and the last bill was received at the very end of October and paid in full in early November as usual. Usually I would receive the following bill in early January and pay it by the end of that month, and this has always seemed a suitable enough…

Slimline curve electric radiator
Hi all, Have a slightly chilly conservatory (which is now part of the kitchen with no internal doors) which didn't have building regs. Probably as it is not insulated enough. Long term we will probably add a radiator but that will require bashing up some tiles etc but in the interim was going to buy one of these…

Would anyone happen to be able to tell me what Ebico's standard electricity tariffs were, during August 2020 - day use, night use, standing charge? Fingers crossed!

Hi Does anyone know of a company that doesn't charge to have standard (non smart) meters installed? Bulb have informed us they will install smart meters for free but will charge £120 to install the electric standard meter. Thanks

Finding a comprehensive comparision tariff chart for dual fuels
My dual fuel fixed tarriff with Avro Energy ends late next month. :/ MSE tells me to look around now :) What I would like to see is a simple tariff guide, to tell me what is more or less and which is better value. MSE comparision is very good, but it may not use the lowest tariff, because they don't know all of the tariffs…

Virgin Money App (Go Compare) Energy Comparison
HiJust wondering if anyone has used the Virgin Money App energy comparison tool. I'm not sure of the implications of using it regards 'open banking'. It's a nice little incentive though if you can find a competetive tariff. Many thanks

British Gas small print Energy Plus Protection Jan 2022v5
Hi All, This tariff seems too good to be true. A year's heating cover included for free. See the quotes from the welcome email below. The heating cover 'may have cancellation fees'. And you have to take smart meters within 3 months, or BG will switch you to another tariff. (Bets please, that it will be considerably more…

E-On Energy
I sold my house after E-On had been supplying my energy for 8 or 9 years. When I moved I supplied final meter readings and details of the new owners. E-On refused to remove my name from the account without a letter from a solicitor! I asked for signed notification of this T&C and they refused. They called me 3 times a week…

What's the point of GreenNetworkEnergy listing a credit of 3 months dd payments without showing how
What's the point of GreenNetworkEnergy listing a credit of 3 months dd payments without showing how much energy you have used in that same time period??? We could £273637635277 in debt and not know. This is the stupidest system I've ever heard of. There's absolutely no reason for this other than beings deliberately evasive.
