What is your switching savings threshold?
What is your threshold, in terms of savings, to initiate a switch to another energy supplier? I am not talking about tariff hopping with the same supplier but a switch to another provider completely. Just interested as to what amount would convince people to switch. Thanks

I recently and for the first time used the joined the energy club and switched suppliers through this site. Previously I was with SSE paying £115p/m I put in the exact units of gas/electricity I had used in the last 12 months. British Gas was cheapest, £75p/m a saving of nearly £40p/m! Great! I signed up. I have now got an…

Energy Club
Hi everyone, I am a member of Martin's Energy Club, there doesn't seem to be a way of editing the amount I pay to my energy supplier every month as this is incorrect now. Has anyone actuall been able to do this? All I can see is where you can edit or change the Tariff but NOT change/edit the amount I pay every month. Can…

Npower help needed.
Hi, I'm new to this so please be patient with me if I seem a bit slow! Our current payment is being jumped from £99/month to £170/month with a £454 bill outstanding. My husband and I are so upset as were not sure which way to turn. There is no way we can afford to pay £170/month but to switch we'd have to find £454 which…

New Scottish Power Tariff
After bucking the trend in January of releasing a new one year fix tariff, Scottish Power have finally released their new April 2017 (do not know why the jumped to April) Online Fixed Price tariff. For me, it is still more expensive than alternatives but worth considering if they continue the cheaper tariff trend month on…

New SP 1 year tariff out

British gas switch
Hello, I'm confused as to whether I should switch to this British Gas collective switch or not. I'm not sure how accurate the amount it's telling me I'm going to save is and don't like the exit fees idea. I'm currently with EDF on the Blue+Price Promise Jan 2017 and this BG deal is apparently going to save me £11 a month.…

Has anybody tried to complain about Ofgem?
Hi folks, I've thought for a while that Ofgem are part of the problem rather than part of the solution when it comes to the energy market. I had no idea there was any mechanism to hold them to account and then I discovered this. https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/about-us/transparency/freedom-information Things can be taken to a…

Why does the Cheap Energy Club recommend variable rate over fixed rate?
The Cheap Energy Club price comparison tells me that GB Energy Supply offers the cheapest rates for my gas and Electricity usage. Its fixed rate and its variable rate deals are exactly the same price at the moment. The Cheap Energy Club recommends the Variable Rate deal as its "Top Pick". But surely, as there is no exit…

OVO's customer service
All the reviews I've read suggest that OVO are very good on customer service. Last week, I checked the comparison sites and saw that I could save a lot of money with them. I phoned their sales team to check and this revealed that the sites had exaggerated the saving. Still, £600 per year isn't bad. I got a quote, agreed…

New Gas Boiler sends bill through the roof
Having had to replace my aged Gas boiler with new "efficient" condensing boiler my bill has more than doubled. I have had it serviced and checked to no avail. This is during the mildest winter for years. The thermostats remain on the same 19 degrees and we have woodburner which keeps us warm with the gas for backup and for…

Switching issue e.on and extra energy.
We switched December and have had a nightmare. Switched on the 22nd. Extra offered to do the meter read. My wife took them up as we have 2 year old twins and she wasn't sure where the meters were. That was the start of a nightmare. She asked E.on about dealing with our final bill, was advised that she should cancel the…
