Hi All
I'm after a little help with dealing with a situation which at the moment feels like it's going round in circles.
On saturday received a letter from British Gas saying they are applying for a warrant to change our meter due to money they claim is owed to them however my partner pays Sainsbury's for energy and is up to date. There was a short period he fell behind but has since caught up. He spoke to Sainsbury's on Saturday who said they would contact British Gas and clear up the issue however he did this before when a previous letter arrived and it obviously hasn't resolved the issue.
I would like to send something to resolve this but am unsure what, should we request a statement of account from Sainsbury's to show all monies paid and send this to British Gas? It very frustrating having the company that we pay say that it all up to date yet another saying that money is owed.
Any guidance would be gratefully received.

HI again Butterbear.
Had you put "Sainsburys / British Gas problem" or similar in the subject line maybe you'd have caught the immediate attention of someone who knows about this relationship and potential issues, rather than a generic "help please" which probably applies to 99% of posts in these forums anyway??
I dont know if you can change it the title once you've posted?0 -
Were you a customer of BG before you switched to Sainsbury's and were you in debt when you switched?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Anotherjoe I have tried to change the title but can't edit it!
Robin- no we were not with British Gas, we were with Scottish Power then changed to Sainsbury's, this was years ago. BG do supply Sainsbury's which is, I think, why it has become so difficult- Sainsbury's state that all monies are up to date but speaking to BG on the phone is getting nowhere which is why I want to send something.0 -
Do this quickly
1) Ask Sainsbury to Email you confirmation that your account is up to date and there is no aged debt
2) WRITE to BG heading the letter Complaint, enclosing a copy of theEmail0 -
Thank you Dogshome I will do this today.0
