Could a leak in the system be driving up my gas bill?
I have a weird boiler which loses pressure and then sometimes randomly gains it based on whether I have turned on a radiator valve etc. I recently got a gas bill for £300 just for a quarter. Could this have sent the price up?

Can I escape Economy 7? Is it worth it?
I have a large family and I'm spending a lot on electricity, even though the heating and hot water are on gas. According to Southern Electric, last year we used 5369.94 kWh at the day rate and only 930.16 kWh at the night rate. Yesterday I used energyhelpline.com, who say I could save £200 a year by switching to…

New boiler
Hi all, I've just woke up this morning to find the pressure in my boiler has gone. Added it via the normal means and it dropped again in half an hour. Had it fixed a few months ago and the guy said it was nearly 10 years old and was on its last legs anyway. On that occasion it was leaking and he just tightened everything…

Is it more cost effective to have radiator temp set to max on boiler?
I have a thermostatically controlled boiler whereby it has a sensor which senses the temperature and if it falls below a certain temperature the boiler switches on the radiators. Once the temperature increases and reaches the desired temperature the boiler turns the radiators off. On the boiler there is a min / max control…

We have been with Npower for a while, but I want to switch us. The problem is that apparently we are over £500 in arrears according to them. Switching from electric to a gas boiler and heating
I have a 2 bedroom flat on the ground floor that has been build in 1991. The house had 3 storage heaters (2 for the living room and 1 for the hallway) and two small heaters for each bedroom. We replaced those with simple Dimplex heaters as the old heaters looked awful and the storage heaters made it a sauna in the morning.…
