Advice for OAP heating
Hi, Our next door neighbour who is quite elderly lives in a small house over 3 floors although she only really occupies her front room and bedroom. She feels the cold a lot, and has a fire on in the FR constantly, even in summer. She had a gas fire in her FR, one of the ones that heat three white ceramic(?) vertical slabs…

Changing pre-payment electricity suppliers question
Hi all, I've just received a prepayment key from EDF as I'm moving to them from Scottish Power. I'm hoping to get a credit meter from EDF after 28 days. My question is, I have about £15 left with Scottish Power. If I put my new key in to register it, will this wipe out the credit with Scottish Power? I would have waited…

Tactics for Timing A Switch From E.On
Hi, Can you help me with how to time a switch between suppliers please? My E.On Save Online 9 ends September 9th. I'm thinking of moving to a Scottish power online tariff. If I switch before the end of my E.On tariff there's a sting of a £30 exit charge. Also the current E.On tarrif is a tiny fraction cheaper than the one…

Moved house. Got final bill from Scottish Power. I read electricity meter reading on 28 May - 53715. When I read it before I moved on 10 July it was 57940. How come in 5 weeks there is such a hike and I'm left with a bill of £458.40? Anyone else had similar experiences? Should I pay it or question it further? Given its my…

Air source heating question
Do you have air source heating? If so, maybe you can answer this question. Do you have to shut off the heating about 10 minutes before the water heating switches on to prevent it tripping? We have to switch off the heating otherwise the system trips and the only way to re-set it is for someone to climb into the roof. This…

Gas Pre-Payment Meter with Utility Warehouse
As I don't see what I can do with this I think I'm more putting this on to have a moan. I had a pre-payment meter fitted under warrant. I'm not proud of it. I'm struggling with money and fell really far behind with my gas and electricity payments. I got a letter saying they would apply for a warrant and fit a meter. I…

I am currently with N Power and it appears due my direct debit being too low (£35) I have run up a deficit and as such my DD has been reset to £115pcm with one payment having already been taken. I have already emailed my landlord to request up to date meter readings as N Power are using estimated billing. My concern is the…

When is "Fixed" not Fixed?
Hi We live in rented Sheltered Housing, are both retired and have disabilities. Our bungalow has only electricity (with Night Storage Heating) and our supplier is EDF. I used MSE and switched to the Fixed S@ver v2 E7 from Scottish Power. We thought that "Fixed" meant exactly that. Our initial monthly DD payment was £72:00,…

npower complaint - npower company representative
I wrote a rather wordy complaint which did not fit into the online form, so I emailed it to complaintsteam@npower.com The gist is that I moved house, BG was the deemed supplier, had numerous problems for 1 month, so I switched. By the time the switch went through, BG had actually…

EDF Gas Billing
So, last August I believe I switched my gas and electricity over from British Gas to EDF, to their Fixed S@ver V2 tariff. I was paying £20 for my electricity per month but wasn't billed for my gas. I called EDF who told me their was a known problem with their computer system and that they couldn't bill me for my gas and…

New supplier assistance required
My Npower GoFix6 tariff expired on 31 July and I move to the more expensive Go Save S. If they really are to be avoided can anyone suggest another…
