Changing pre-payment electricity suppliers question

Hi all,

I've just received a prepayment key from EDF as I'm moving to them from Scottish Power. I'm hoping to get a credit meter from EDF after 28 days.

My question is, I have about £15 left with Scottish Power. If I put my new key in to register it, will this wipe out the credit with Scottish Power? I would have waited until it nearly ran out but I'm going away for a few days and don't want it to run out.

Thank you.
Phil

It should not wipe the credit but I would not purchase with it until your supply start date with EDF to ensure the transaction gets correctly routed.
