When do I tell them I;m leaving?
I'm moving house at the end of June and need to let the electricity company know so that they can render a final bill. My question is, do I tell them now, or wait until my last day, provide them with a meter reading and ask them to send me a final bill?

NationalGrid Metering - didn't show
I received a letter through the door a couple of weeks ago stating that National Grid will be exchanging our Gas Meter today, 03 June, and that access to the property would be required even though the meter is outside the house. It's now 16:46 and I have been at home all day, when I should have been at work, and still…

Signing up to EON
A question to anyone who recently signed up to EON. Does the sign up procedure allow you to specify the Direct debit amount as I'm a very low user 10,000 kW gas and 2300 kWh electric. I really don't want to end up like British Gas did last time of paying almost double for 6 month then next to nothing for the next.

Problem with stalled meter estimated Bill sent
I had moved into a new property (all elec) early January 2009 and my energy provider asked me to setup a dd of £60 a month. I had agreed and set it up. Since then I gave them the meter readings once in June 09. Supplier collected their own reading in December 2009. I had been receiving bills from them regularly to my email…

A few questions for the Scottish Power rep
I am currently on the Online Discounted July 2010 tariff. From what I can tell, my tariff will revert to the standard (monthly DD) rates on 1st July. As I am a low user, it turns out that the best for me is actually the NSC Online Standard tariff with quarterly DD due to the prompt payment discounts. So, list of questions…

Twin-rate tariffs - where and what?
I've seen twin-rate tariffs mentioned a few times in posts on here but I'm struggling to find them from any supplier. SWMBO needs to sort out her tariff - she is on a standard tariff but needs to be on E7 as she has storage heaters. The twin-rate tariffs that offer heat in two periods, one at night and one during the…

Charged by Two Gas Suppliers
Hello All, Let me explain the situation. Between Jan 09 and Nov 09 I lived in a rented property with one other housemate. When we registered with utilities, Npower advised us that they were our suppliers. Therefore, we paid them for our gas and electricity. In this period we did not receive any correspondents from British…

First Utility can't supply gas meter for 28mm pipe
I switched to first utility in May (No laughing) and when onstream came to switch the smart meters they did the electric but said they can't do the gas meter as the pipe is 28mm and not 22mm. The larger pipe was installed previous to stop the pressure drop as the boiler is quite a few yards away. As any one else had this…

Atlantic gas standing charge doubles?
I have just left Atlantic gas and received my final Bill. I noticed that from 1st April gas price went down but the standing charge nearly doubled from 13.36p to 25.57p per day. As normal they tell you 8 weeks later they have changed the prices. Worth noting if you are thinking of switching.

EDF and DD reviews
I joined EDF on 12 October last year, and based on my average consumption in the previous year (11000 KW) my payment was set to £32 a month. However after my most recent bill (mid May) they now want to put my DD up to £65 as I have a debit on my account of £135. I think that by the time I've been with them a year I will be…

Hello I am currently with E-On. When I moved in to my current apartment, I received a letter from E-On within the first few days stating that they do my electric and I am on a Standard-Charge electricity plan. I rang up and set up my direct debit which was around £30, over the next two years it raised to £70 per month. Two…

First home: How do I compare gas and electricity rates?
I am about to move out of my parents house into my first home, I am completely baffled how I find out what the best gas and electrcity companies will be. Prepay meter debt
Hi, we has our meter changed recently (just a new PP), the old one showed the total debt on the meter but the new one doesn't, is it a requirement to show the total debt ? It only shows the amount of debt from emergency credit, though there is definitely a debt on it because it takes money for it. The new meter really…
