Monthly payment plan but not my debt
I moved into a private rental on 15 December. The Estate Agent took the meter readings on that date and told the utility companies I'd moved in. I got a letter from Scottish Power a week or so later that I opened by mistake which was actually addressed to the landlord (the name was hidden by the envelope) and was a…

Capped tariff ends in April - when to switch?
I was lucky and got the BG Price Protection 2010 about 5 years ago, I'm sure it has saved me a small fortune over the years. It's due to run out in April and I'm starting to look at switching, but the switching sites warn me that I'll pay a penalty if I switch too soon. My question is, when should I seriously start looking…

Gas bill problem - could be trouble ahead
3 years ago i purchased a flat and it had a pre-pay gas meter. It took me a year to get British Gas to change it so i could have a normal bill. I found them impossible to deal with and it caused me so much stress. A few months after the new meter was installed i was sent a bill for 0.71 pence. I found this very odd and…

Boiler service vs boiler cover
Hi all, I bought a new boiler just over a year ago, and was wondering if it is worth getting a year's worth of cover (it's still under guarantee for another year) with a service thrown in, or whether it would be better to get a standalone service? Would a standalone service be any better than one included in boiler cover…

E.ON Reps : Cant Switch Back to E.ON Via Cashback Site Cos Old Account Is Still Open
E.ON reps :hello: Previously when E.ON has blamed someone else for not having had opening meter readings on a transfer out. Scottish Power - A warning
I had a moment of weakness back in mid December and allowed one of Scottish Power's door salesmen into my house. In my defence, I had just moved in and wasn't too sure who I was with anyway, so thought I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. He did his job well, and I was stupid enough to sign up, all the while ignoring the…

When a credit is not a credit.
Got a letter from EON stating I was £500 in credit and they were reducing my DD to £5. I wasn't convinced that I was in credit by so much. Phoned them with meter readings again. My DD is going up from £90 to £120. So glad I phoned.
