Lowell Solicitors - Letter of claim help
**Firstly let me start by saying, yes I know debt has to be repaid even if it is very old. No excuses but I was very young and naïve once without proper education on the consequences of bad credit.** Back in 2014 an ex had me take a mobile contract out for them with Three(I thought I was in love and that is just the tip of…

Statute Barred Debt?
Hi just after some advice. I was on a DMP that started in 2009, my belief is that all debts were either paid or I am still paying them off (one debt remains) with monthly payments agreed with the creditors. I got a letter out of the blue about two months ago from Wescot saying they had a debt acquired from Idem (Who I have…

CCJ Set aside
I was issued a CCJ in 2016 which was settled in full within 40 days. This is also reflected in the credit file. I wish to Set it aside. As I understand it, a Judge will consider it if its settled within 30 days. In my case, is it an automatic "NO" if i request it? I ask as I don't want to throw away £250 for the appeal if…

What small DFW things will you do this week 07/12/20?
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

To clear the final debt (or not).
Hi All, In the last 18 months myself and the better half have been able to clear around £27.5k of debt from our lives. Debts were a mixture of car finance, credit cards and bank of mum and dad. In the last couple of months, we finally reached the point where we had more than we owed, 'in the black' for the first time in…

CCJ affecting my ability to rent
Hi there, I posted a few months back regarding a CCJ that I was unaware existed. Long story short a family member took out credit in my name and the corresponding letters went to an address that I hadn't lived at in 6 years, so I made the decision to start paying in instalments.
