What small DFW things will you do this week 07/12/20?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Morning folks,
Quick check in before I get back to studying. Had the weekend off study. Did normal bits and bobs really... I made some mincemeat (a bit late but it was a cooked one that seems quite tasty already) and some pumpkin soup (VERY tasty considering very simple recipe). We went for a walk on Saturday and spotted our pair of buzzards in a tree. Went for a different walk yesterday and saw a nice looking pub that we fancy trying when covid stuff is no more.
I finally finished the crochet cat cushion after all the frogging. I'm really pleased that I did as it looks much better now. I nipped to the fabric shop for the inner and picked up some reels of thread, embroidery threads and display hoops, plus some stretch denim. The embroidery is for cross stitch. I'm making some little gifts for the neighbours. I usually do edible ones but one of my neighbours has developed diabetes so I went with craft. Taught OH to cross stitch and he has made a design for his mum's card. He really enjoyed it in the end and fancies doing some more.
The jeans... ooooof, well my two favourite pairs of jeans are DISINTEGRATING. So I'm going to attempt to make a pair. Kind of. I don't intend to put rivets etc in but I'm going to deconstruct the most dead pair (even the outer thighs have gone threadbare) and use it as a pattern. Even if I fail, the fabric was only £8.44 so no big loss.
Today's plan is mostly to study, finish the first cross stitch, pull apart pork joint that was cooked yesterday and poss start myself a sock with the BEAUTIFUL pattern I bought
Have a lovely day all

Evening all!
Busy day today. I must get on and wrap more presents this week. I'm not sure whether to post them or wait. Might be a long wait...!
Sent a couple of things off. Made a slow cooker stew from the freezer. Heating has been on all day, it's been 2 degrees and foggy.
Might have to dig the hot water bottle out!5 -
Morning folks,
I'm in work today as a "flexi furlough keep in touch day". Bit weird to be in but nice to see people. Had an exciting piece of post on my desk. Turns out that I was given a certificate for writing an "outstanding" review of a paper for a journal! *proud moment*
So hopefully OH will do the hoovering while I'm out. Then home for tea and then getting my hair cut at 7(!). I might... might... treat myself to a slurp of prosecco as it's my birthday tomorrow.
Have a good one all

Happy birthday Carrielovesfanta.
Small things I will do today are a free lunch at work. It's not exciting but it is free.
Use up leftovers for tea.

Morning!
Happy birthday CLF! Check you with your certificate - that’s awesome! Definitely one to be proud of.
Quiet round here, eh? I hope everyone is keeping well and just being busy bees.
So...
- walked instead of using the car
- didn’t wash my hair
- hung up washing rather than TDing everything
- aiming for a quiet/early night with a free kindle book
Catch up soon!4 -
Happy Birthday Carrielovesfanta!🎂
Did my weekly transfer to the spending account today in time for tomorrow’s grocery order.Struggling to get going but so far, done a load of washing that’s currently on it’s extra spin, laid out everything I need do slow cooker sausage casserole when I get back from walking the land shark, and finished one Christmas parcel. Two more to go. Haven’t done cards yet. I hate writing cards!3 -
Thank you for my birthday wishes
Bit of a quiet one for me as I'm in on my own all day. OH was at the gym (my rest day today), then his mum's, then work. I've done a bit of studying then OH dropped me and some compostable waste at the allotment. I nipped to nearby town to put some money in the bank, buy some spices from the hippy shop (it was the owner's birthday too!) and then walked home.
Small things today:Empty piggy bank and bag up using coin bags from bank
Cross stitch a little present for OH while he's out the house
Picked up free magazine in hippy shop that had two free herbal teabags with it
Keep heating on low - although it seems very cold today
Eat "fudge" bars out of OH's box of heroes as he doesn't like them. I am a hero myself clearly for taking one for the team there
Probably should carry on with cross stitching the gifts for the neighbours. OH has kindly offered to do some of it too
Make dinner at some point!
Have a good day all
