Full and final settlement through Payplan
I am currently in a DMP with Payplan and owe approximately £28444. This is due to be re-paid in 2025! A relative has offered some money to help clear my debts and this will be up to £12000. I'd love to try and clear my debts completely with this money. Does anyone have any experience of Payplans success at securing full…

Thursday 28 May 2015, what small dfw stuff will you do today?
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

Feeling very stressed!
So to cut a long story short after a few bad decisions (credit cards, catalogues etc) and my father passing away I've ended up in a bit of a downward spiral debt wise. I've finally decided to try and pick myself up and contacted Stepchange, they've recommended a DMP which I know a lot of people here have used. Really not…

Council Tax Inept Direct Debit
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right area but I'm having major problems with my council tax. They aren't listening and just keep implying that I'm lying about not paying my council tax. I…

jdwilliams costs more than payday loans?
For every £100 I pay on my catalogue each month I get a £61 credit charge on my jdwilliams catalogue. When I get a £100 payday loan I pay back £125. How come everyone is complaining about payday loan APR's when catalogues charges are way higher than theirs?

Debt and Bank Accounts
Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I thought I would start here as the problem's basis is to do with debt. My daughter-in-law has got herself into a mess with debt and a while ago set up an account with Gregory Pennington to manage it. Apparently they recommended Think Bank to help her control her money…

As the title says - I'm on a bit of an emotional roller coaster at the moment. For years I've been in a cycle of debt but me and DH have always just about managed. It's all our own fault (mostly mine) and I'm so ashamed. Stupid stupid living beyond our means. Circumstances haven't always helped - going back to uni, having…

Debt and depression
So I have now been off Prozac since early Feb having been on it for the best part of 10 years before that. I am certain that debt and depression have been closely linked in my case as I know must be true for many others. DH and I are just over half way through our DMP and have paid off a lot of debt. I have to say that I…
