Debt Free Wannabe on Maternity
Hi, I first joined MSE way back in 2007 but this is my first post. I was an avid reader of threads until 2011 when I buried my head in the sand and just let my mismanagement of money get the better of me. Now with my second child on the way, maternity leave impending and the dream of being able to return to work part-time…

Debt in someone elses name - Car finance
Hi all. Can someone point me in the right direction here? My brother has poor credit so, stupidly, my sister agreed to take out finance for a car for him. The car broke down and the part (a turbo) wasn't covered in the warranty. He got it replaced twice and it kept breaking so he eventually part-exchanged the car and…

Inspiration
Hi everyone, I've been an on-and-off member of MSE for a number of years, and when my motivation is high I can pay off some quantities of my HUGE personal debt. Unfortunately, I slip very easily into bad habits. I have been in debt for as long as I can remember since going to Uni nearly 20 years ago, and I am very good at…

DMP and missing accounts from Experian
Hi I went on to DMP with step change about 6 months ago. Recently I checked my credit rating with Experian and three of the five accounts seem to be missing from my report, or showing zero when there is debt still pending. Would this be a result of some of the accounts going default. I don't think any of these have been…
