Hi, I am a newbie at all of this, but having found out yesterday that my 20 year old step-daughter has taken out pay day loans with seven different companies, and has an overdraft with Lloyds, I was shocked in to contacting you. Her total debt appears to be circa £6,000!! I would like to know whether the fact that the pay…

At the end of June 4 of the 5 remaining debts/payment plans will be cleared leaving only £1000 left :T I have recently started working part time too which is adding a little extra every month so I thought I would do a new SOA and see if there's anything I've missed out…

Since I have become debt free in Dec 2012 I haven't looked back. Been to America bought stuff for my house and got a fancy iPad mini. Life is great not owing a penny to anyone. I'm in the middle - literally- of paying down my 11k Debt, having had my light bulb moment, I believe I can go from being 16 months until I am DF to December, which doesn't feel that long away. Each month between now an December I will chip off another debt, effectively paying more to the next one, until I will be a…

33 years of debt.
Since I turned 18, hardly a month has gone by, when I wasn't in debt to someone. That's around 33 years of, virtually, non-stop debt. When I think how much I have paid in interest, over those 33 years, I'm so angry with myself.

Is it their job to get people into debt?
Called into my bank yesterday, to draw out £20. Realised I had left my cheque book at home, so asked the cashier for a counter slip. As she handed me the £20, she said "You are eligible for a Credit card on this account". I only just paid off a £12,000 loan with them, 2 months ago.

Friday 31th May - What small DFW things will you do today?
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

Go it alone?
I have been on a DMP via Payplan since July 2008. After a recent mortgage swap I was able to pay a couple of creditors off leaving only barclaycard, egg (now barclaycard) and a managed loan from HSBC. I over pay the managed loan each month in addition to my payment to Payplan as this is over a much longer term than my…

Can I make a Full & Final settlement offer on a CCJ?
Hi, I have a CCJ / debt which it appears was registered in 2008 from a Captial One credit card taken out in 2006. The credit limit was only £100 and I did spend this. Unfortunately, I completely forgot about this card when I separated from my ex-partner and moved back home to my parents. I am in the process of clearing all…
