Not Quite Debt Free but...
...today I've finally paid off all my credit cards. As you can see from my signature the situation was quite desperate in 2008 (and long before!) but with help from this site, careful budgeting and small, clear goals it's all gone. And to celebrate DH and I have opened our first ISAs :money: They won't have much in them to…

I am hoping some one can offer me some advice please. I have a £1000 Lloyds tab credit card with a balance of £695 and a Next default for £297. The credit card should have been cleared this month but DH crashed his bloody car (and his mew work boots ended up costing us £300) I am going to need a new car in the foreseeable…

Hi All, hopefully someone can offer some advice on my situ, seems to be conflicting info on the internet when I search. Firstly, I'm fairly embarrased about this situ and this is warts and all. If you believe Wonga loans look bad and affect your credit score - read this!
Got 25 entires on my credit file from wonga. Rang up today claiming they mis-advertise the use of wonga loans and that it doesnt actually give you a positive on credit file if you have a few of them. Experian report may be silly Q
Morning :D I've just received my report through today (:T only 2 '1's throughout the report quite chuffed) and quite a few items have 'settlement date' does this mean the account is closed? if so it looks as if they stay on report for 6 yrs, does this affect my credit rating in a negative way at all? Thanks :)

Default on old bank account
Good morning! I have a quick technical question after being chased for a HSBC current account default. I opened the account in 1999 (aged 13). The account grew into a student bank account with an overdraft. There was a seperate loan in 2008 which I couldnt afford to pay. Eventually, the loan was "settled" and the balance…

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. :money: But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of…
