No longer a debt free wannabe...

I woke up this morning, had breakfast, checked online that our wages had been paid and updated the DFW spreadsheet. The overall debt figure is now in the BLACK!!! In just less than four years, we have gone from a scary financial place (£27000 plus of loans and credit cards) to join the ranks of debt free.:j
We have paid off the last of the fixed term loan that seems to have always been part of our financial life (7 years) and paid off my lovely wife's 0% card. Meanwhile my own 0% credit card can be paid off any time we like from the remaining cash balance. That is in a 4% net savings account to earn us interest whilst the banks lend us money at 0%.
It is a fantastic feeling that we have managed to gain such control over our finances. All thanks have to go to Martin, his team and all of the contributors to this forum for their knowledge, enthusiasm and commitment to helping others.:A. I have lost count of how many bank accounts and credit cards we have opened and closed in order to get their best interest rates, incentives and other cashback offers whilst following your advice. All the while it meant that the bank's money was starting to come my way and not theirs.
We added up all of the big extras that we've dealt with on the way - replacing a very old car via the scrappage scheme, having a full bathroom refit, and continuing to restore a previously un-loved Victorian house - and realised that overall we have cleared just over £48000 of debt in these four years.
For those working towards debt freedom, it can be done. It will seem like it will never happen and you are constantly scrimping and saving towards it. Then one day you wake up and you've done it and it feels bl**dy marvellous.:D

That is truly a huge amount of debt to pay off in such a short amount of time, an amazing achievement you must be really pleased with yourselves.
