PayAngels.co.uk safe?
Hi there, I just wanted to reach out and find out if anyone out there has used PayAngels.co.uk before? Are they a safe alternative to setting up your own limited company via your accountant if you are freelancing or consulting? It seems an accountant will charge about ±£2000 to manage the whole thing, whereas PayAngels…

P800 - Underpaid Tax but I'm PAYE?
Hi all, Basically I have had my P800 through and I have underpaid by £2300. I am salaried and PAYE so this surprised me, so I call the number on the calculation and they have informed me that my Company Car allowance was; 2012 - 2013 - Wrong 2013 - 2014 - missing 2014 - 2015 - late (P11D not submitted until July?) Now I…

deadlines tax return and payment
I've changed my preference for paying my tax bill from PAYE through direct through my bank (online transfer). What I don't understand is, the deadline for the only tax return is January, yet the deadline for payment (not through PAYE) is also January. That doesn't leave much time for queries etc. How does it work?

switching from btw to holiday let (cgt)
I hung on to my first London flat and have rented it out for the last 15 years. It's very close to where I live now. I am thinking of switching it to a holiday let via airbnb as I think I'd enjoy the process and also increase my income. My question is, will this change my capital gains tax situation? As I've owned the flat…

Paying Class 2 NICS by Direct Debit
Hi there, My husband and I are both self-employed and have been paying Class 2 NICs by Direct Debit for some years. Mileage rate above which you pay tax?
Pretty sure its 45p a mile isn't it? I run my own business and claim this (for first 10k) and there are no tax implications. This is the HMRC rate I understand. Wife is looking into a lease car for her job as nhs. Co-ordinator has told her that she'd get 45p mile but because its over 10p a mile (Where this comes from I…

Underpaid Tax - Employer error?
Hi everyone, I need some help. I received a letter today from HMRC saying that I have underpaid my taxes for the year 2014-2015.
