in Cutting tax
Howdy! I'll try not to over complicate things . My brother,( who is not computer literate ) needs to complete this form to hopefully set the record straight with HMRC and pay his tax bill.
He became an accidental landlord , and let his property out for 5 years. He never got an accountant as advised by me, until last year.
This company he got to look into his mess as I call it , are very shoddy IMHO.
He ( me really ) sent receipts / paperwork etc.to this accounting company and paid a fee . They mislaid/ lost stuff when they moved premises, which doesn't help matters.
He was not good at explaining himself , and they never gave him 'options' as to a tariff for the services they provide. He therefore paid a one off fee ( I assume that's what it is ) and the problem has not been solved.
They did give him a rough estimate (£3, 488.00).
He sent this amount to HMRC . They have taken his money, and have ' frozen' it into a ' limbo ' Acct and want him to complete this form before his payment is authorised by them.
I have tried downloading the firm in work , but apparently it can only be completed online. Can somebody confirm this?
Is it complicated to fill out ? I don't want to start from scratch , after being given a figure and sending paperwork receipts etc. all over again. Pulling teeth , seems less painful.
Please could someone advise ?
Thanks

If you are having a problem viewing the form ensure that you have the latest Adobe Reader software installed.
When the accountants that he used gave him that figure to pay did they give him the workings out to how they had calculated that, i.e the turnover for each year, the expenses etc as you may need that to fill in the form.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

It has to be completed on screen, i.e. from the website, then you print it off and send it to HMRC.

So, we have to print the form after completing it . That makes things a little easier I guess. I hope I don't lose the information when I email it to my office to print on Monday .( providing it is simple enough for me to complete).
Yes, they did give him the workings of how they calculated the amount. It is on our iPads .
Wish me luck

I have 3 or 4 browsers on this PC and I can't view the form in Firefox, but I can in Chrome and IE?
I've passed information to the Online Services team to ask if they know of the problem and if they can update the website to advise if there is an issue using certain internet browsers.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

Thanks for that .0

I used the online chat section, got given an old no. Which does not work .
Much as I detest using phone directories , I phoned118118 from my office.
They gave me the 'old no.' Hanging on for ages, so I will try whenever I can.
Regarding the browser issues , my friend ( an art director), told me my Mac is too old and when I can afford to , get a new one . The link I sent him worked fine on his Mac .0 -
Today I got through to a nice Welsh chap, nice ,but he never even knew what form do2 was . That call, lasted over 18'mins.
He did however , give me another no. To ring.
When I got through, the lady said that I have to use local library , or get friends/ family to help, as the form can only be completed online .
So, my brother is treated like a criminal and the Starbucks of this world can do anything they want
Vey annoying. Tax doesn't have to be taxing . But it is l0
